Nobody knows!  It's a secret.

No, really it is.  Apparently, because it is a SD (Secure Digital) it
has to be secure, and the only way to get specs and firmware for these
things is to sign away your very soul to NDA lawyers.

Even though nobody I've ever heard of *uses* the security features of
SD.
