The pictures and procedures don't match my system. It looks like an HP in the picture. some sections have both hp and compaq pictures but not the keyboard section.
There is a metal ridge that goes around the entire notebook that seems like it is holding the top sections on. It's in pieces but not pieces that seem like they would come off easily . . . Nope. just scratched it up. I looked in the archives for this subject and found a few posts but not on addressing the metal rim.
