Hi,
I would like to propose the nomination of Alexandre Montplaisir as a
committer for the Linux Tools project.
Alexandre contributed an outstanding (and bleeding edge...) Generic State
System manager that is currently used to refactor the LTTng 2.0 kernel
analysis views. Since it is generic, it can also be used to manage states
in user space (UST) i.e. tracing for the rest of us - our upcoming
challenge. This Generic State System was the subject of Alexandre's
Master's thesis.
His main contribution can be found in the following packages from the
org.eclipse.linuxtools.tmf.core plugin;
- org.eclipse.linuxtools.tmf.core.statesystem
- org.eclipse.linuxtools.tmf.core.statesystem.backend.historytree
- org.eclipse.linuxtools.tmf.core.statesystem.helpers
- org.eclipse.linuxtools.tmf.core.statevalue
He also worked on the CTF and the new LTTng kernel plugins.
Alexandre has joined our team a few months ago and has already demonstrated
a high level of maturity and competence. On top of his Java expertise, he
is also an accomplished C/C++ designer and our team's Linux/Git guru - a
blend of technical skills that fits particularly well for the Eclipse Linux
Tools project.
I think he will be a great addition to the whole team.
