I am going to put ubuntu 8.04 on a friends laptop on a dual boot with xp.
Currently he's loaded up with so much mal ware that he can hardly use his
laptop.
He lives in Oregon, so I want to be able to configure his laptop from here, if
he get's
into trouble, or if I need to show him how to do something, or if he needs a
program
loaded. etc.

Is ssh the best way to do that? I also noticed that there is a remote desktop
tool in the
system preferences menu. Should I ssh his computer, and then use the remote
desktop
tool, or is there as better and more secure way of doing it?

Thanks
Paul
