Thats a huge fail haha, it doesn't bring tears to my eyes.  I do feel
somewhat bad for the owner, who left it up to an idiot, but not having
backups in 6 years is a bit ridiculous so I don't feel THAT bad.  I can see
not having backups for the last year because you got lazy and it wasn't
worth your time, but I doubt they have been running on the same server and
OS for all 6 years, there should have been at least one backup at some point
just for moving the data to another server.

Even though it wasn't a hardware failure and it really wouldn't have done
much in this situation, they really should have been using something a bit
better than RAID1 to start with.  The statements made draw a picture for me
of the guy that was in charge of the server and how "smart" he really was.
Unfortunately there are too many people who give others a bad name by
promising the world for less money and only providing the client with
disappointment.  Sometimes I feel there really needs to be a blacklist of
tech people that should never be allowed to touch anything important.
