Perhaps, then, to be as transparent as I can be, I should point out to 
those who may not already know it, that I'm in the hosting business.

That can be construed as both good and bad:

good: I know how to check things, and I know at what level to look at 
"overselling" (though with this host it's quite easy, since anyone who 
sells unlimited but doesn't buy unlimited, has to be overselling: for 
example, what if I bought a hosting package from them and used it to 
offer downloads of every known linux distribution. I could easily 
legitimately have 100GB of data on their service.  As I've pointed out, 
that would take all of a large HostGator reseller account)

bad: You could argue that I'm pointing out everything to get you to buy 
hosting from me, and therefore my opinions may not be as transparent as 
they appear.

If anyone calls me out on how I found out what I wrote, I'll be happy to 
explain.

Note we're NOT as inexpensive as they are.
