Thanks, Paul, that's a good link, especially from a hotmailer <smile>.

The thing I'm wondering about is what to put after the "kalarm" to make 
it stay in the background.

I'll get it eventually; until then it'll come up to the screen and I'll 
close it.  That's tested; it works.
