I was on the Interwebz late tonight, watching videos. It was in High-Definition, which is cool because I have a fast connection and a decent system. But it was laggy....and then it said that I didn't have the processor speed to decode HD videos. I thought that was odd, I have what some might call "overkill" for a processor that never has to deal with games or anything too heavy. Dual-core 2.7 GHz, if I can recall correctly.
So I fired up top to see what was the matter, and immediately saw something called "indicator-applet" taking up 70 PERCENT of my CPU. What the hell? I killed it and Ubuntu automatically started it back up, and it works fine now. Anyone else having similar issues or heard of something like it? Anyone know the cause? FYI, Pidgin, Vuze, and Firefox are always open on my machine, and my uptime is 16 days. --MarkTraceur
