The one thing I took from it all beyond the feature set and user interaction
was the fact that it is opensourced and the waves are federated over
instances. So I could have my own wave for my domain, there could be a SoCal
Linux wave, and the Google wave, and we could all interact. I think that is
the key thing Google has done with this.
