Everyone goes off about LTE solving world hunger, but in general, theoretical licensed bandwidth is usually like 1/10 of theoretical unlicensed bandwidth, so we'll always need STA devices that can support both. The 5 GHz spectrum is gonna be congested very soon, and we're gonna need 802.11ac and 802.11ad sooner than we realize. 2.4 is already gone in many apartment type settings with little isolation, and soon they are really going to push this "triple play" madness over 802.11n in order to save money on deploying cabling, More power to wires!
