I'm not currently making a router (that would be a different project,
possibly later), I am making an adapter gadget which acts like a CSU/DSU,
allowing you to take your existing router, the one you used in 1980s to
connect to ARPANET, and connect it to SDSL, using SDSL as a currently-
available replacement for ARPANET. It's intended for people who miss
the ARPANET.

If you no longer have the router you have used in 1980s to connect to
ARPANET (i.e., if you were foolish enough to throw it out), you can use
a Cisco router instead with a WIC-1T serial WAN card and a CAB-530MT
cable. As far as I could tell Cisco still supports these on their
currently-active router products.

As far as the status of my project, I have already built the hardware
and I'm currently working on the software for the on-board MC68302
microprocessor. It runs OSless on the bare metal, but the software
architecture is still quite complex in order to support multiple SDSL
flavors as well as rich debug functionality.

Early next week I expect to have the final few components populated
which would allow me to connect it to a router (both the Ciscos donated
by Jim and Dante as well as my original 1980s-ARPANET-style MicroVAX
router), but I still need to do quite a bit more software development
before I can do a real operational test.
