Oh for crying out loud

Do you really seriously think that Oracle will kill MySQL? Geez.

They make so much money off of Oracle licenes, MySQL is a huge joke for them.

There are things MySQL is really good at, and there are things Oracle are really good at. There is some crossover, but most companies have Oracle/MySQL/MSSQL in their data centers. Oracle buying Sun/MySQL is the best thing for it. Now one can have a full soup to nuts Desktop to Server stack mixing the best of open source and proprietary software. This is the first viable, business ready alternative to the MS stack.


#2010Prediction: IBM buys RedHat.
