The Charter looks pretty good to start with. I think one of the key phrases should be "Be Professional". This email list should be Professional emails. We all know what a Professional email should be. And im not taking about syntax formatting. And it doesn't have to be corporate like ether. Posting off topic links to random stuff is not Professional.
Im very iffy about a off topic list. Could lead too "bad things", and get out of hand. If you want to be off topic, the IRC is the best place for that. Personal attacks of any kind or form are not welcome here. Or at meetings. We want this group to be Professional but also Informal at the same time. Having a very locked down Charter and/or Rules is not the way to go. And could turn away a lot of people. I think most of the issues have been about this email list. If we can solve the issues in the email list, the better off the group as a whole, and the meetings will be much better. Lets start the new year off with being more Professional people, and a Professional Socal Linux Users Group. ----------- Lets try to grow more this year. I need ideas and help getting the word out. I have meet people that had no clue there was Linux meetings in the area. So I would like to be a bit more pro active of getting more people involved in the group. I think the coffee house's are working out pretty well. I want to stay in the same area if all possible, where the 215 and 15 meet up.
