I don't think you will be able to load your own distro.

Usually only what they provide. Ask your vendor to make that image available
via their control panel.

Some vendors let you supply an image. Expensive though.

Subject: [LinuxUsers] anyone with virtual machine experience?
Sent: Jan 26, 2010 12:14 PM

If anyone has virtual machine experience please help me understand something.

I'm renting a Virtuozzo based vps on the 'net, and want to try a PIAF install.

Here's the only page I've found on the subject:

http://pbxinaflash.net/vm/

Can anyone give me a bit of information on how to do this? I have a local
linux box I can play with but I really don't know where to start.

tia.
