I have been playing with ubuntu+x41 tablet for a few days now. Ubuntu 9.10 worked out of the box after doing post install update including suspend and hibernate. The only thing I needed to configure was the finger print reader. Compiz works just fine, in normal mode. The only compiz feature I need is expose and that works fine. Battery life appears to be the same as in windows. I currently have the machine dual booted with Windows Tablet and ubuntu 9.10 so that I can go back and forth and compare. I must say that I have not found a replacement for wjournal or onenote. I prefer wjournal over onenote. Xournal is the closest I have found to wjournal. Handwritting in Xournal under windows is terrible. Xournal seems to work better in Linux. The problem I am having with Xournal is It cannot lasso what I write and copy/resize/etc... Lasso has to be my favorite feature in wjournal.
Still plugin away, will say more later. Chris...
