My comment was more pointed at the Android apps, not ANDROID or Chrome
OS. I do not see how Google could stop Chrome OS from being FOSS if
it is based on Ubuntu. If they are going Change the Chrome OS
license, I would think they wouldl have to take the Linux out of it.

"THe comparison of Apple to Microsoft is Apples to Lemons on all
technology fronts."

Yes, but the comparison between Apple and M$ on the licensing front is
totally different and worth noting.

"Are they going to make Android open source? "
I thought the source code was available under the Apache Lic. That is
not the better GPL lic, but it is better then M$ and Apple. Android
uses Linux for core system services such as security, memory
management, process management, network stack, and driver model. The
kernel also acts as an abstraction layer between the hardware and the
rest of the software stack. This is a better situation then say the
Iphone because it make the hardware more hackable. If Google make
Android to hard to hack, I suspect people will try to replace android
with something else. The Android phones are already using Linux, I
bet it will be easier replacing some of Androids functionality then
trying to replace any software on an IPhone.
