Ok. There are many ways to implement this kind of setup, but please note that you'll need some way of storing user/group/password information, and have the Windows/Mac/etc clients use this information when performing authentication and such. I'm definately not an expert on this, but I have some experience with Red Hat Directory Server which is much like (or even based on?) OpenLDAP as far as I know.
