Hardware Spec: Dell latitude d531 with amd turion64 x2 processor. 4 GB
ram. etc.
Software spec: opensuse 11.1 x86_64

1. Whenever I compile any java program it takes a few seconds to
compile. Although a system slower (hw spec) than mine can compile it
faster. I am using the default javac compiler found in opensuse 11.1.
I would like to know why this is happening and whether there is some
way to overcome this?

2. In linux if I play some audio/video file, say in firefox, then I
get some ALSA error while opening it elsewhere. i.e. if one
application has taken control of the sound then the other cannot use
it. Is this a bug in my OS or a bug in linux itself?

Thanks
Sid
