Stop right there. You're assuming that: 1) I have Knoppix. Most people use Knoppix for fixing broken hard disks and such. Not many use it day-to-day (you can, but not as many do). 2) Expecting a tester or an end-user to install an IDE is Bad. Don't. GNU Autotools are a pain the butt. I don't use them.
