I am a newbie and am having trouble with a backup program: APTONCD. I made two or three backup CDs which came out great and were approximately 480 MB in size. All of a sudden, I went to make a backup disc and all but 90 MB of the packages were left; the rest had disappeared. However, all the programs are still installed and working properly. Pursuant to the APTONCD user manual: The packages selected are copied from the APTonCD media to /var/cache/apt/archives/ directory. This way the packages are available and you can install them using apt-get, aptitude or synaptic without need to download them. Approximately 400 MB of packages are no longer in this file. Where did they go? Does anyone know how to restore them to this file? I tried unstalling and reinstalling APTONCD, however, nothing changed. Many thanks, [email protected]
