Patrick,

Which distro are you using???  There may be a network control in the menus.
Do 'ifconfig' and 'iwconfig' from your root prompt and post the results.
That may give us a better understanding of what's happening.  Also - what is
the make / model of your wifi card?  That can be found out by doing 'lspci |
grep network' and post the results.  Maybe having that info will help us
help you further.
