Hi, I'm new here so I hope I've come to the right place. Basically I want to connect an old 233 mHz computer to windows XP. The XP computer is connected to a Netgear DG834G via ethernet cable and the old machine is connecting via wireless card and DHCP. It is running DSL linux and it has smbclient installed. I think it's an old distribution so I don't know if I will be able to do anything with it. It's very hard to find information since this distro is so old and it is no longer being updated.
I want to be able to share files between the 2 computers, but I have no idea how to go about setting this up. The old machine is connecting to the internet via the wireless card, but it is not at all reliable and often loses it's internet connection. It also must be very close to the wireless router to work at all. So I'm also looking for an ethernet card that will work with DSL linux. Any advice or pointers in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. --Michael -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
