Santaji,

I don't necessarily have an answer for you, but I can tell you from
experience that webcams haven't been all that well supported in Linux.
After saying that - I don't have one myself.  One solution you could try if
your computer has enough horsepower to support it is to install VirtualBox
and install Windows XP on a virtual machine.  That's how one of my friends
runs his.
