Hi, I am currently using sshfs to mount a remote filesystem. The files come up on my local box as having the same uid/gids as on the remote host. I do not have these uids/gids set up on my local system however. The thrust of my question is this: How does linux deal with uid/gids that are unknown to the system? Does it just ignore the permissions on those files and act as if you were root when dealing with them?
