Most distributions have a list of the packages they have on their
website/wiki.  Something to know however is that most Linux
distributions don't ship with lots of stuff.  The general idea is to
download a relatively small install disk image and then add stuff to
your computer later.  Debian is an exception to the rule because you can
order/download a several dvd set with just about everything you can find
for it.
