I'd say that the need for an antivirus vastly depends on your web browsing
habits...
Stay safe and you shouldn't need one even when using Windows! I never used
an antivirus on my Linux laptop and never had any problem, but then I'm not
a heavy downloader.

But if you'd feel safer having an antivirus, then I guess *clamav* would be
the way to go, yes. :)
