That could turn out to be a problem for me. When I upgraded from ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 my wireless usb wifi thingy stopped working. I had to go back to 9.04.

I've ordered version 11 from osdisc.com. I'll see what happens when it arrives in a week or so.

Yeah, hardware support is sometimes an issue.  But even if you don't
want to upgrade, you can still periodically reinstall your existing
distro.
