Here's the relevant line of output on the desktop box from lsusb:

Bus 001 Device 027: ID 04a9:174d Canon, Inc.

I googled and found a person who put a huge ppa / repository for many
different canon printers out there.  Printing from the desktop box works
flawlessly.  The issue I'm having is how do I set up the cups server on the
desktop box so it still prints from the desktop and talks to the laptop's
cups client and vice-versa?
