I've never needed to blacklist a device, but I have for a device driver. I
suppose it accomplishes the same thing for your situation, which is
disabling a device. Basically, just need to find what driver it uses
(lsmod), then put that in the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf file.
Reference below is for debian-based, but I suspect it's the same for other
distros.
