Hi there, There are 4 that immediately come to mind as great for old hardware, Bohdi ( https://www.bodhilinux.com/ ), Puppy ( http://puppylinux.com/ ), Tiny Core ( http://www.tinycorelinux.net/ ), and Solus ( https://getsol.us/home/ ). There are numerous others. Google "minimal linux distros" and you'll come up with a lot more. I've played with these 4. Solus comes with several different window managers. My suggestion is to try Budgie. Not only is it lightweight, it's what Solus started with.
