hiwell when i read the subject of your message i thought you were suggesting something.anyways, you want to make a bootable cd and then install fedora... you have mentioned only about 1 cd fedora is a 4 cd installation. So, assuming that you have a DVD image you will need a DVD writer. To burn image files (CD or DVD the process is same) use xcdroast (linux) or Nero(linux version) or NeroXpress(windows) look for an option called 'Burn Image' in the GUI based cd writing tools. for nero burning ROM it is under the 'Recorder' menu. however you can also use the command line utility which is much simpler as it writes *.iso formats only. i do not remeber the full command.before you run the command check for the drives parameters using #dmseg |grep -i cdyou will get some line stating dev ..0,0,0 ...... blah blah... whatever is the number against your CD/DVD +RW use it in the command which is#cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 -eject gracetime=2 -dao speed=xx fedoracore4-i386-disk1.isothe above command is with all necessary switches/options 'xx' stands for the speed at which you want to burn choose some speed that matches or is less than your actual drive write speed.that should solve you problem...well folksi have a question related to this one but slightly different. suppose i have a dvd with 4 *.iso files of say fedora3 how do i use these image files to install fedora withouth burning them to cds. i hope i am clear... i donot want to burn these images... instead use the images which are on a DVD to install linux!is there any method by which this is possible?? -- help!adios~ anup--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
