* First of all you need to list out your requirements.
* Then you need to decided which MTA will be best for your purpose
* You must also take in to account the steps necessary to be
anti-spam compliant.. like use of SPF and DominaKeys
* If you will use domain keys then check out which MTA is easier to
configure for domainkeys.
* Will you be relaying multi-domain? If not now, then in near future?
-- config options depend on it. Especially domainkeys.
There are 3 main MTAs
1. sendmail
2. postfix
3. qmail (netqmail edition)
If mail mail traffic is expected to shoot, then you may want to choose
between Postfix and Qmail.
I have found Qmail to be easier when it comes to relaying for multi
domains and even domainkey for each domain.
