If you have RAID array, then the firmware may have facility for monitoring and alerting through email. Apart from that, you can use monitoring tools such as Nagios (I would suggest Opsview <http://www.opsview.com/community> instead). Such tools can monitor a host's services and alert you accordingly. > it should show if, any hard disk fail or thermal condition status. Never done this part ever, so cant really comment on how to go about it. Perhaps you will find something in the above mentioned alternatives.
