I'm using a Graphire 2 (USB) tablet with Debian unstable, Linux 2.6.14.6,
XFree86 4.3.0.1 and Wacom driver 0.7.2.
The tablet works, but moving the stylus ~80% of the way across (or down) the
tablet corresponds to moving the pointer a full screen's width (or height).

In the X server's log I find the error message "WACOM: unable to ioctl max
values.", which I suspect may be related.
It turned out the problem was that I had my Device entry wrong (I needed
/dev/input/event4, not /dev/input/event0), so the Wacom driver wasn't
actually being used.
However, I was running gpm, which somehow treating it as a USB mouse and
repeating it on /dev/gpmdata, together with my ordinary mouse, so it
looked like it was working. How it was reading a USB mouse from /dev/psaux
I don't know...
