Hi!

I have a Toshiba Portege M200 tablet PC, that used to run Ubuntu Breezy
and with a working stylus. After a hard drive crash and exchange, I have
a brand new Dapper install on it. However, I have troubles getting the
stylus to work now.

Before, in Breezy, I used a version of wacom_drv.o module provided by A
Debenham, that replaced the one provided by xorg. To get the sylus
working, I ran
# sudo setserial /dev/ttyS14 port 0x338 autoconfigure

Now, in Ubuntu Dapper, the xorg modules seem to have the extension .so
instead of .o. I have used the precompiled driver wacom_drv.so, provided
by the ubuntu package wacom-kernel-source, and replaced the wacom_drv.so
provided by xorg with it (in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input).

To run wacdump, I commented out all sections in xorg.conf that related
to wacom (sections stylus, eraser and cursor) and restarted X. But I
cannot find the proper serial port with wacdump and stylus does not
start to work.

I tried
# sudo wacdump /dev/ttyS0
and on up to at least ttyS20, that gets me "WacomOpenTablet: Invalid
argument" as output, except for ttyS4 where there is a timeout instead.

And:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo setserial -a /dev/ttyS4
/dev/ttyS4, Line 4, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x0338, IRQ: 4
        Baud_base: 115200, close_delay: 50, divisor: 0
        closing_wait: 3000
        Flags: spd_normal skip_test

Port number is thus quite similar to what I used before. But the stylus
does not work and wacdump gives:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo wacdump /dev/ttyS4
WacomOpenTablet: Connection timed out

And if I understood it correctly there should be a script in ubuntus
wacom-tools, /etc/init.d/wacom-tools, that could help in setting this
up. This script seems to end without doing anything:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/wacom-tools
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Please, any advice is warmly welcome, as I feel very lost now. Maybe I
missed something obvious? Any other things I should check?

Regards,

Magnus Larsson
