True, they don't look right.. Are you using the same versions on the X-driver
as the utility programs? (i. e. Did you download the source from sourceforge
and compiled or did you install the wacom-tools package?)
I just tested setting the PressCurve with with the latest linuxwacom
(0.7.6-2), and it seems to work as it should.
Oh, yes.. X succeeds to open it doesn't it? (stupid question I know, but I
have to ask it.. Check the log for the X-server /var/log)
Which versions of the wacom packages/binaries are you using?

The wacom-tools package should contain udev-scripts that will create
a '/dev/input/wacom' link (or something like that) that will point out the
latest connected tablet.
