It's normal for mail clients. What many discussion lists do is to replace the Reply-To and/or the To address fields with the list mailing address on all mail sent from the list. This usually guarantees that the reply goes to the list instead of the poster unless explicitly changed. The only negative affect I can seem from this is that people who don't subscribe to the list won't get a response. But on the plus side all communication is routed to the list so others might benefit from reading the archives, and a subscription/registration only model could help weed out at the spam that infects this list.
