Dusting off those long unused neurons, I believe that pf is the Profile disk device ( I can't remember if pf is also the device for a Widget, but I think so), so those errors seem to indicate you are having problems with your disk- most likely a bad block at 7744.
I have the Xenix doc from SCO, so if I can look anything up let me know, but this looks like a hardware problem to me.
