You excel at producing pure hyperbole. No one has suggested that
you validate "every piece of email in the universe." One simple
validation per $ubscription request will suffice. Validation can
be done automatically by most mailing list management programs.
I'm glad that human beings are available on *your* systems to
handle problems. Note that human assistance is available on
*most* mailing lists. However, most mailing lists don't actively
solicit the problems caused by unvalidated $ubscriptions.

If you make no effort to validate, your system is screwed up by
design. You choose not to fix the problem therefore you have no
