If you're sending lots of copies of the the same message, the MTA is the
performance bottleneck, not the MLM. I'd suggest switching to qmail,
which pumps out mailing list mail a lot faster than sendmail does.
There are a couple of sets of patches around to glue majordomo to
qmail. I've done it, it's not hard.
