Attachment handling is inflexible, but it does allow rejecting of the 
HTML portion of multipart-alternative while passing text.

It does allow individual members to be on No Post or Individual 
Moderation, which sounds like what you're referring to.

It does automatically handle bounces.  Hard bounces stop mail, soft 
bounces are tolerated until a certain threshold is met in a certain 
period of time, then mail is stopped.  Listowners can manually 
unbounce subscribers, but otherwise Yahoogroups handles sending probe 
messages to periodically check for bounce status.

You do need to use the Web interface to access the archives.  
However, you can go No Mail, or digest, or individual mails via email 
command.
