Those who didn't attend missed a great meeting last night!

First of all, all who attended got free goodies! Since Allaire has
merged with Macromedia, they're trying to get rid of all their stuff
(t-shirts, etc), and they have been kind enough to pass them onto the
User Groups. So everyone at the meeting last night got a free Allaire
t-shirt (in one of three designs) and as many Allaire pens as they could
hold in the hand!

The meeting was graciously sponsored by Imaginuity Interactive
(www.imaginuity.com), a design shop in Dallas. They informed the group
that in a market that's fairly rough right now, they're looking for
people - if you know pure HTML/web design, ColdFusion, or Flash, give
Ben Dyer a call at 214.740.4700. Additionally, they gave away a handful
of t-shirts.

Our speaker was Bill Rogers, CEO of Ektron. He spoke about content
management in general, and his company's products, eWebEditPro and
emPower. eWebEditPro is a WYSIWYG control that is easily integrated
into your applications, allowing your users to edit their own content
through a web-based interface. emPower is a content-management solution
that runs as a ColdFusion app - it handles source control, versioning,
security, and more. Bill's presentation was excellent - while he is the
CEO, this was more than a sales spiel - he obviously knows his product
and the world of development. Throughout the night, you heard all sorts
of approving comments from the crowd - "cool!" "wow!" - I'm sure I saw
one or two jaws drop. Bill did an excellent job, as he wasn't able to
do a demo as planned, due to lack of projector. However, he stuck
around for 20-30 minutes after the meeting to demonstrate his company's
products to any that were interested. Additionally, he gave away a free
copy of eWebEditPro and emPower - over $3300 in prizes! Winners will be
posted on the website (www.dfwcfug.org).

Be sure to come to next month's meeting. It will be an open discussion
style meeting, over the topics you folks want to discuss most. Details
to follow.
