Along the lines of max(columname) which only does value as min/max, is there any way to find a record-column-value by max LENGTH of its entry? I can't seem to find anything in my docs like this. I want to modify some tables and take down some column lengths that I feel are longer than needed. I need to find the maximum-length entry in that column as a guide. I can imagine the math-way: loop it all out, set array with length of column entry for each, then sort array desc, and output the first value (highest number). That seems pretty hokey though! Anybody know an elegant and hopefully quicker way to do this?
