Sounds really good to me Matt. We've found that in most cases we can leverage the power of SQL-Server to provide fast and efficient searches, but I'd really like to see what Verity can do in CFMX 7. In CFMX 6.x, it seemed to be a little bit of a resource hog and was slow.
BTW, where is the next meeting going to be? Did the location change? Thanks! In looking ahead to the June meeting I thought I'd ask if folks would be interested in learning more about Verity, what's new with Verity in CF 7, and how you can leverage this extremely powerful tool to build some amazing search engines very easily. I'm in the process of building an entirely new search tool for i2's intranet and knowledge management system, so if people would be interested in this, I'd be happy to share what I've learned thus far, walk through my code, and show you the end results. Even if you don't want to hear about it in a meeting, you really, really owe it to yourself to check out Verity if you haven't. I had used it a bit in the past for some very simple purposes, but after reading up on it, messing with it pretty extensively for the past few weeks, and getting some help from the experts, I'm really excited about what all Verity can do. Particularly with the new features in CF 7 you'll probably be amazed at the power that's already running in CF and how easy it is to use. OK, enough gushing. ;-) Let me know if that sounds like a cool topic for June or another future meeting, and here's a couple of links to check out if you want to learn more: http://tinyurl.com/c879c http://tinyurl.com/by3an Matt -- Matt Woodward [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.mattwoodward.com ---------------------------------------------------------- To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe: http://www.dfwcfug.org/form_MemberUnsubscribe.cfm To subscribe: http://www.dfwcfug.org/form_MemberRegistration.cfm ---------------------------------------------------------- To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe: http://www.dfwcfug.org/form_MemberUnsubscribe.cfm To subscribe: http://www.dfwcfug.org/form_MemberRegistration.cfm
