Matt,

Thanks for the feedback - good to know.  I suspect my company may be willing to invest more in CF for the higher reliability - the current farm with 4 servers has not been as stable as desired.

Subject: Re: CF Enterprise vs Standard edition

This is largely anecdotal, but we switched from CFMX 6.1 Standard to CFMX 7 Enterprise running multiple instances on JRun (no experience with Websphere) and it's rock solid, more so than what we were experiencing with Standard.  Unfortunately I don't have any hard numbers on speed, but I can tell you the uptime even on Windows is tremendous--I haven't once had to restart anything except when there's a patch for Windows itself.  We also do a lot of high-volume emailing and Enterprise is a great deal faster for emailing as well.

Sorry that isn't more "hard fact" oriented but we're very happy with Enterprise and the stability, at least in my experience, has improved.

People,

Does anyone have experience comparing the performance and reliability of CF Enterprise vs Standard?

Also, does anyone have any experience running CF on top of J2EE - specifically IBM Websphere?  Any performance or reliability changes?

Thanks for your feedback,
Thomas Woestman
