I've been using the not free but powerful ActivEdit from
http://www.activsoftware.com/ for several years now.
I've even used it as the core of a CMS I developed for the Australian
Building Codes Board (www.abcb.gov.au).
Works well. Not free. Creates XML valid markup. Not perfect. Requires Java
or ActiveX. Works with Firefox which I like.
I've also been building a "flash form" rich content editor but don't think
I'll be able to get the same ease of use or functionality of ActivEdit 4.x
easily. And it needs Flash Player 8 so far which is still in beta.
I can certainly recommend FCK but look at the ActivEdit solution if the
client is prepared to pay the modest fee to get a license.
