Ron, it would be a lot easier if you would highlight what you changed in the 2nd code fragment than to post the whole thing. I didn't read through all of it, but I think the problem may lie in this div:
<div id="#formNames#" style="position:absolute;visibility:hidden;"> You've got a form inside this hidden div. The problem is that it's only hidden but not out of the document flow. In essence, you're second record is behind this hidden div. I would try using display:none and display:block instead of visibility:hidden property.
