Kemudian ada "The southern Rock" yang maen agak beda kalau lo denger Dixie Dreg si Steve Morse juga peletak gitar proresive dia berduet dengan pemain biola asyiik. Sejalan perkembangan jaman banyak band prog bermunculan katakanlah John Petrucci dan DT yang membuka aura progresive boom lagi awal tahun 90-an, kemuadian ada Michael Romeo (Symphony X), Ron Jarzombeek(kali).
