A much more promising episode, finally! A lot of what I dislike in
Ep. 1-3 have been dispelled. Primarily, I was waiting for people,
either commoners and lords to say and act against CB. Ep. 4 finally
show some of the inevitable reactions to CB. The best line is from
the journalist-mom: "the world is not that simple"

There's hope in G00.

I wouldn't dwell on the focus on anti-US, I suspect when other
nation-states come into the spotlight there will be ample amount of
cynicism in store for them. But the writers are not shy at all naming
names or come close to naming names: the US, Real IRA, and an almost
direct reference to Iraq.

The version I saw mentioned "terrorism" in reference to the fires, and
"spent all the fossil resource on _reconstruction_". Reconstruction
from what? With oil money? And multiple simultaneous terrorist
bombing? And Setsuna being a Kurd? It looks like Iraq, sounds like
Iraq and smells like Iraq.

I think they should rewrite the backstory, it's really 2037 not 2307A.D.

Now I can bring out some positives in G00:

- While it's not so clear if CB is the squeaky clean good guys, there
are no BAD guys in the sense of a Hitler or Darth Vader. All three
powers are only guilty of excessive greed and callous disregard of
average people's life and happiness, the same accusations people level
at George Bush. So far we haven't seen, in fact we are not likely to
see, anyone who's _Pure_Evil_, the way that You-Know-Who is EVIL.

I like this point a lot. I think the concept of Evil is not helpful.
Both in real life and in Gundam.

- We haven't seen any cheap horrid scenes of people suffering and
getting oppressed (other than Setsuna's eh... vision). Or CB saving
helpless old men and crying babies. Come to think of it, Mizushima
has always shown restrains with the emotional scenes.
