It's too bad that these can't be attributed. There are a couple of little niggling details that don't seem to quite fit right, though I can't put my finger on the problem.
In any case... The "break the GN Drive" thing on the red drives might be the same thing that the tech was mentioning when he stated that the fake drives had to be recharged. The description of the drives themselves reminds me somewhat of the "cruise missile with an unshielded nuclear reactor" idea that I heard about way back when. The idea that the red particles are bad isn't exactly surprising, though, given the cellular damage done to Louise. If Billy is studying the new drives (as it appears he is), then chances are he'll figure this out fairly quickly. The Union appeared to have a pretty good analysis of the particles from the real GN Drives, so I wouldn't imagine that it'll take them long to figure out that there's something dangerous about the particles from the new drives. The link between the real drives and Jupiter was figured out by Eifmann (who must have understood a surprising amount of information about the drives if they really work the way that this summary describes), but he also believed that the Jupiter link meant something else as well. The idea of a CB civil war is certainly possible with the wrecked station and the dead body that we saw from 80 years earlier. Though it seems a bit odd that the eventual winners of the civil war would leave the dead body just floating in a random corridor. One would assume that there was at least an attempt at an orderly clean up of the facility by the people who built it (which the two investigators in that sequence definitely were not a part of, given some of the comments they made), and that bodies would be moved out of the way, if not dealt with in a better manner. The floating body hints more at a very quick and very fast evacuation. I wouldn't expect Ribbons to unlock anything for Setsuna, and there are a couple of reasons for this. First and foremost is that contact between Ribbons and Setsuna seems unlikely any time soon. The two appear to be working on different sides of the conflict, and even if that weren't the case Ribbons would have to seek out the Ptolemais for the two to meet. Second is that if Ribbons or Tieria, and Veda, are required to unlock a new mode, then the Veda construct that the Ptolemais's crew has constructed may be enough of a substitute to allow it. Also, if this is true then I've a sneaking suspicion that Corner is NOT a part of the breakaway CB faction. Instead, his family got snubbed by Schoenberg 200 years ago (I believe that number was mentioned at one point) and Ribbons is an emissary from the faction who is setting Corner up so that the faction can pull its big reveal. junior Subject : [gundam] GN Drive history**Spoilers** Date : Thu, 06 Mar 2008 19:55:14 +0000 >From : [EMAIL PROTECTED] To : [email protected] I won't bother with the translation since I would just butcher the stuff badly, so I would just discuss some highlight: 1) The Throne's red GN Drive was the first GN Drives CB produced, but the red GN particles they produce is bad for human, and the operating condition isn't always stable, hence they create the TD Blanket that basically filter out the bad stuff, so the GN Drive is more stable and the particles are not harmful to humans. TD Blanket takes mass resource and special environment (Jupiter?) to produce. Supposedly, if the GN Drive keep on emitting the red GN particles, eventually it will "break" the GN Drive (coming from the CB founder). 2) There was an internal break in CB, as they were split as to whether they should use the "fake" GN drives while the main CB group want only the "good" GN Drive to exist. There was a "revolution/revolt" around 80 years ago, the main manufacturing facilities were moved/destroyed, some of the other groups were killed, along with the "living CPUs". However, some data remains left behind. 3) However, TD blanket has a limit on how much it can filter, so when the GN Drive produced too much, it will start to go "Berserk" and release a lot of red GN particles. This can be used as a weapon, and when the MS is in this mode, it is called TRANSAM. Weapons and movement are powered several times in this mode. 4) Since the red GN particles is bad for the pilot, this mode cannot be used in normal operation. Only special weapons that require a lot of GN particles like GN ARMS can use it. The TRANSAM mode can only be unlocked by the living CPU directly control/controlled(?) by VEDA. I will let this be digested for a bit before putting in my thoughts, but unless somebody spend a lot of time to go through the spoilers, this seems to fit with one version of the spoilers/speculations out there, as Ribbons/Tieria would be the two living CPUs, and it would be Ribbons that will give Setsuna/Exia the unlock key to use TRANSAM mode (which happens to be the episode title for 22), as Tieria don't have direct access to VEDA anymore.
